5 Top Attractions in Malaysia Tourists Shouldn't Miss

The grandeur and glory of Malaysia is best experienced in Kuala Lumpur, and a hotel or accommodation that has a great location serves as a good starting point to experience the diverse KL culture. To get you started, here are 5 attractions you shouldn't miss.

1. Petronas Towers
Arguably the most iconic attraction in Malaysia, the Petronas Towers were once the tallest structures in the world. These 88-storey gigantic twins stand 452 meters, and feature a 58-meter, double-deck sky bridge/observation deck. If you want to climb up this amazing structure, head there as early as possible because only a limited number of people are allowed to enter each day. But if you want to say pass, there's an upmarket mall and beautiful park you can roam around at the foot of the tower.

2. Menara KL Tower
Another popular landmark is the Menara KL Tower. Standing 421 meters, the tower offers a breathtaking view of the city at 276 meters above street level. This is higher than Petronas' sky bridge/observation deck that's located at 175 meters. What's more, the tower has a banquet hall and an open deck that are popular venues for weddings and private functions. Other attractions around the tower include a cultural village, a 6-D theater, and an arcade that features a Formula 1 race car simulator.

3. Batu Caves
Located north of Kuala Lumpur, the Batu Caves comprise of 3 major caves and small ones set on a limestone hill. History has it that these Hindu temples are dedicated to Lord Murugan. Hindu priests bless all visitors before entering the 3 main shrines of Brahman, Vishnu, and Shiva. After passing through the shrines, one can climb up 276 steps to the Temple Cave on top of the mountain.

4. Sultan Abdul Samad Building
Built in 1897, The Sultan Abdul Samad Building is one of the earliest Moorish-style buildings in KL. The significance of this building dates back to British colonization as a house of superior courts. What's striking about this landmark is its Gothic architectural design. Graceful arches, a high clock tower, and curved colonnades are just some of its features that make it a favorite of travel photographers.

5. Aquaria KLCC
Before checking out of a Kuala Lumpur accommodation, you should visit Aquaria KLCC. This 5,000 sq ft aquarium is said to be the biggest in the world. Some of the marine life found here includes tiger sharks, blue rays, and deadly sea snakes. One of the highlights of Aquaria is a 90-meter tunnel with a moving walkalator. For those brave enough, they can get up close with tiger sharks by signing up for the Diving With Sharks Program.

To lessen worries on your vacation, stay at the Quality Hotel City Centre in Kuala Lumpur that's located near Light Rail Transit.
